My great-great grandfather was a fanmous bear hunter....and his weapon of choice was a bear spear!
His name was Bjørn Bjørnsen, the name means : Bear, son of Bear!
Ahh, I didn't realise you was on an island..
A famous bear hunter called Bear, son of Bear.. I like that.. I could not imagine anyone these days killing bears with a spear. Men were a different breed so many years ago eh..

Bergen is packed, food is ready, camera batteries are charged and I'm ready to roll. Two nights in the woods on pristine land with a couple of friends (NB members) all starts tomorrow morning.

    WOOHOO!!

    I can only feel envy!

Watch out for the bears, and have a good time!

One more item to arrive, and my one man cook kit is complete. My new gas burner that I payed 3$ for including shipping arrived today.
And I expect the new trangia burner and pot stand to arrive any day next week.

That means I have 4 different stoves at my disposal.

1 home made wood gas stove that burns wood
1 flexi-fuel stove that burns paraffine or gas depending on configuration
    1 Meths burner (Trangia rip-off)
    1 gas burner.

And the business end if all of them can be nested inside my cook pot for minimum space. (one at a time) So if I starve in the wild now,
it's becasue I forgot to bring food...

I guess the next phase is improving my shelter options...high on the list is a 3 or 4 season sleeping bag. And perhaps a full hammock system.
I have not bothered with this yet as I'll never have time to spend the night anywhere. And to be frank...what I have experienced earlier in my life have made me a tad jumpy when it gets dark. So thats something I would prefer to get started mid summer, when the midnight sun shines. Thats next year. Then I can ease myself into it...
So back to putting small coins in a jar until spring :-)

Meanwhile I wa't a new frying pan. Been eyeing one witha callapsible handle that can be lengthened by a stick for easy cooking over fire. Byut I have
B-day coming up next month so that just may solve itself if I behave...

Thanks, sorry for the gruesome spelling I have. I am not dyslectic, I just miss keys and always forget to spell check...

Oh how sad am I. The weather here is appalling.
We got to camp, got set up, collected some firewood and lit the fire.
I cooked my famous venison casserole.

We all got p!55 wet through!!

The forecast is for lots more rain, so we took the decision to cancel the weekend.
