This morning I decided to drill a hole through one of my ferro rods with a hand drill (not electric) so I got my drill bits and drill an started to make the hole so it could be put on a lanyard and about 3/4 through there was sparks galore needless to say I had ferro rod with a drill bit stuck/ welded together, I will say that I was only turning the handle at a slow ish speed so thought that it would not spark how wrong was I? anyway I got another rod and managed to drill through without any sparks this time, I then drilled a hole into a piece of magnesium so that can go on the lanyard as well.
