It is interesting to see the similarities of what is available in the UK and the Northeastern US at the same time time. While we do not have sloe, sea beet, and we have not yet come across a velvet shank mushroom, we can find all of these foods and more! Autumn olives, maitake, black trumpets, crabapples, wild grapes, sea beans (samphire), and sulphur shelf mushroms abound in addition to the second flush of greens like dandelion and garlic mustard, chickweed and sorrel. Love to hear more!
