Starting a Bug Collection
I recently got interested in making a bug collection.
I've seen some in museums and some owned by naturalist scientists/scout masters, and I'm simply intrigued by them.
If any one of you have made one before, are there any tips you'd like me to know before I start?
Here are some facts I picked up from experience and online:
I know that you shouldn't stick cards using super glue because it will eat through the styrofoam.
Moth balls are a must-have if I don't want my specimens to be eaten.
Nail polish remover is excellent for killing jars.
Pin behind the head and through the abdomen.
The problems I would have is buying the supplies and labeling them based on their taxonomy.
Essentially I have to do my study.
