Nice place for the kids to have a bit of freedom. I used to take mine there when they were young and they still remember those happy camping holidays.

Campfires are best shared with friends.
It's a lovely area. I've never camped here (https://www.nantcolwaterfalls.co.uk/walks.php) but it's close by and the walking is superb.

Nantcol is a lovely camp site but with a young family Shell Island wins IMHO, big site, sand dunes and Dolphins

Definitely Rik. Kids loved the island. Crabbing on the causeway. Rock pooling - we had a nice supper of shrimp one night, bodyboarding on the beach and then exploring the dunes. We never left the island.

Next time you go, if you fancy a meal and a pint off site, try http://www.tymawrhotel.com/ I'll admit a friend owns it but its a lovely place.
