Svalbard: Life on the edge on BBC

Take a look at the brand new trailer for the BBC serie "Life on the Edge". From August 29th on BBC Earth.
-Svalbard is magical. There is no place on the planet like it.

This how the trailer for BBC's new serie SVALBARD: LIFE ON THE EDGE begins.

The production team from BBC stayed eight months on Svalbard to make the reality serie about the lives of 10 inhabitants in remote and fascinating Longyearbyen.

You can see it from August 29th on BBC Earth.

    See the trailer.

And by the way...that's where I grew up :-)

Killing bears are totally banned, except for in self defence. But for a polar bear you are lunch. This means that a bear or two is taken out every year in self defence as the regularily comes in conflict with idiots.

Else the seek to relocate them, or simply scare the living daylights out of them so they never go near people again.

Looks amazing. You're very lucky, growing up in such a beautiful place.
