    Digital compass calibration ??

Hello guys I'm new in this forum and salute you all. Now to the question.

My question is this. For example let's take G-Shock G-9300-1 (Mudman) and want to calibrate the compass and the magnetic declination for the region, it's around 5 degrees East, so basicly just make compass settings 5 degrees West for calibration right? And now in theory the compass should point the geographic north ?

    Thank you

I'd really read the instructions :

    "Digital Compass
Measures and displays direction as one of 16 points
Measuring range: 0 to 359 degrees
Measuring unit: 1 degree20 seconds continuous measurement
    Graphic direction pointer
Bidirectional calibration and northerly calibration function
    Magnetic declination correction
    "

It's not clear from their website whether you need to "set" the magnetic declination correction or whether it's already done.

Yeah really thank you Ehecatl. This is a very helpful link, but it's turn out that the calibration of the in this case digital(watch) compass is simple. You must know where the true geographic north is, then you point the compass there and save the direction. I will test that some weekend and if is true will report.

    cheers
