    Trade knives

Does anyone know who is making what are sometimes described as "Trade Knives"
I believe that these were rough and ready knives made for selling or exchange for goods ie skins etc

I expect Mick91 will be able to put you in the right direction for this one...

    He might even make them...

yeah, mick is a skilled dude..

i have an old hickory butcher knife, described as a "trade knife" by dave canturbury... i love it, as you say - rough and ready. i recently made it a nice traditional leather sheath and use it when skinning and butchering deer. cracking knife and i think i only paid £12 for it off amazon!

New here, and I know that there is a maker in the states called Jeff White. He sells his stuff off of David Canterbury's site. I have 4 of his knives and they just rock. Well made, great look, and keep an edge.

I have an Old Hickory, and I too, absolutely love the knife. I put different scales on the it because the ones that were on it were a little thin and
short for my hands. I use mine for hunting too, and I have found that it makes a great camp knife. Holds an edge really well and is full tang.
