"The what have you broken now?!" Thread

    Howdy folks,
I thought I'd start this one because I couldn't really find a similar thread here... Hope this is OK .
Mods please delete and excuse me if it's not really relevant for this forum.

Anyways, this can be the place where you vent your frustrations at the poor craftsmanship of your newly purchased item.
Or just how stupid idea it was to use something for other than its intended purpose... (I'm often guilty of that one...)

It can also be a place to share a funny story about how you broke something whilst testing it or just looking at it...

Or just about anything, broken foot or broken pride , tools, cabinets, doors cables.
Rips , snaps and tears also encouraged...

I'll kick it off with the reason I came up with this...
Not a funny story as such , but I'm sure some of the comments and following stories will probably have me in fits of laughter ...

My trusty (heap of poop) multitool has died today, 😖
I snapped the pliers, just by using it on some (3mm thick) wire.

I should have just used my normal pliers , but as per usual, why walk all the way to the van when you got one on your belt?! 😒
    Yeah right , I know ...

So , the positive I suppose is the fact that it wasn't that expensive as multitools go and good job it wasn't a very expensive leatherman...
Then again , the latter probably would cut that wire all day and not snap.

So there , I broke something today and it's not even lunchtime yet...😁

What have you lot broken , demolished, destroyed or ripped today?

    Regards

I would think Gerber will replace that.

Broken nothing yet today but as I'm looking after three and eight year old grandchildren its only a matter of time. The three year old girl woke me at 05:30, she wanted to watch Peppa Pig.

Hahahah , peppa pig nearly drove me insane when the twins were little...
    😵
I often found myself muttering or whistling the theme tune !!! Even if involuntarily!!
It used to get stuck in my head for hours.
    I feel your pain Sir....

Really didn't think of asking if Gerber would indeed replace or supply broken part. Good idea! Thanks Rik

Could you not "start 'em young" and encourage them to watch Preppa Pig?

Thanks Woody. He looks unimpressed because he hates having his photo taken. He may also be unimpressed that he is no longer coming Bushcrafting with me this weekend.

Yep, indeed the response was swift and apologetic and very helpful!
I'm very impressed with their customer service.

Replacement tool on the way, no questions asked, response to email within the hour!

I take it back , ITS NOT a heap of poop as I had said on my first post, Gerber (Fiskars) are quite diligent and sure know how to look after their customers...
25 year warranty on ALL products outside the USA and lifetime warranty within the US.

I don't like Bear Grills or his logo on my kit but I'll be considering the Gerber kit more often, and Fiskars too...

    Happy days!

Thanks for the heads up Rik!

    Good shout! Thanks David!
I'll be receiving the replacement from Gerber and I think I might get one of these for backup or even to take it apart for spares... Thus bringing my old one back to life !
    Cheers!
