    One for the weekend

    Just finished the latest peragrine. Steel is 3mm 1090 carbon with brass hardware and masur birch tung oiled scales with a left handed caste. Semi hollow (getting toward scandi) ground and very slicey! Deep cut jimping on the spine with enough left uncut for a firesteel. HRC of 56-57 and polished up.





    Apologies for picture quality. Tung oil is a bugger to get off a camera lens!

    What are those indentations on the back of the blade for?

    Not at all, those cuts (jimping) are to add grip to the spine of a small knife if it's intended for thumb on spine use. Its basically a way to make a knife with a small grip handle like one with a full size one. The peragrine is only neck knife sized so I always cut them in
