Oh yes black one is the Mrs knife, going to do a real nice one for her, she loves curly/ burl type wood, so looking for some nice wood
    Hey , I can do that !
I can send you some burr....
I been given a nice bit (can't remember but might be cedar or maple) a while back.
Been meaning to make a kuksa but just haven't had time yet , but there's plenty on there to send you enough for your knife blanks.
Send me sizes ( thickness, width, length) and I'll put it on the band saw tomorrow...

    Hello bud.
Sorry for late reply, only just got in from work.
I got that burr off the workshop but Im not too sure it'l be OK?
Turns out it's birch burr , but for some reason , the "bucks eye" markings have indentations instead of just little knots.
It's almost like the knots turned to shakes if you know what I mean.

I got some pics , so you can have a look a decide if you still want it...

No offence taken either way, if anything I'm sorry that I raised your expectations and now it's looking iffy.

    Anyways here are the pics:

Let us know either way please, I'm sorry to disappoint.

    Regards

    Ps-
I tried to send this as PM but it just won't let me... so I'm posting it here...

Sorry MODS please feel free to transfer it or delete after wildwonderingwoodsman gets this.

Just thought that with furniture grade coloured wax, a seal and a steady hand you can fill those indentations smooth...

    Otherwise there's always plan B :
    plenty of choice here:

Isn't it nice when someone says "that's a great piece of kit, where did you buy that", then you can modestly reply "you can't buy it, I made it myself". The moral is, it's amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.
