    Smokey smells!

How do people get the smell of smoke out of their gear/kit? Normal washing doesn't ever seem to get rid of the smell of smoke totally i find, so what's everyone elses' solutions?

After trying to find a solution for ages i've now just given up and keep old smokey clothes just for wild camping etc!

You can buy specific scent removal washing powder for deer stalking and that seems to work

Just hang it in some airy place outside for a few hours...

Hi Thumbcrusher ... I know its not very bushy but as an ex smoker I find the smoky smell and endless black smudges on everything so frustrating I just use alcohol and gas stoves ... Clean pots , clean gear and much more stealthy !!!

I'm not too bothered about the smell on clothes etc. I don't wear the same clothes hiking / in the woods as I where anywhere else. But I find a good airing helps a lot.
