    Ropecraft?

Anyone here take a rope out as a regular kit item? I just bought a 30m climbing rope, Im no pro climber but I'd like to learn my way around a rope, basic knots, tecniques etc.. and how I could use it in the bush. There's a few times I've been out and thought of how useful a rope would be, usually with me perching on the edge of a high place lol.

Depends on where or what I'm doing but on occasion will carry a length of general purpose 9mm rope. It's not suitable for climbing but helps tremendously with reaching the water sources at some places I visit where the banks are steep or need to shift a tree limb safely that weighs more than I do.

I somitimes carry some cheap utility rope. its about 150kg so no good for climbing or towing but just for the fun of practicing some knots and stuff.
iirc I picked it up from lidl to practice the flip flop winch method but being nylon it was far to stretchy.

Only if I intend doing something with a rope. If I am out with the SAR team I carry some avalanche cord...

I almost always take a length of rope, even just a few metres because it could come in useful, and when it isn't I get to practice knots if I'm bored.
