Comfrey, it's uses , history and benefits

I do apologise if this post should fit somewhere else, but I couldn't work out where to post it.

I wanted to share a post about a plant that I've long used in my FAK and always try and recommend to people as a essential plant to have in our allotments/herb gardens...

This is an excellent article in an amazing magazine , that I've only just realised that had gone online too....
Plenty of really good info on here

Haven't read the article but do be aware that comfrey has the potential to be carcinogenic if used too often.

Absolutely . as the excerpt from the article explains:

"Caution - Although comfrey has been used as a food crop, in the past 20 years scientific studies reported that comfrey may be carcinogenic, since it appeared to cause liver damage and cancerous tumors in rats. These reports have temporarily restricted development of comfrey as a food crop. In light of this, the regular consumption of comfrey is not advisable."

"May be" and "...appeared to cause " area the norm with these studies , however on the side of caution I would avoid eating it.
I mainly use it as a first aid application
