Ha....well, "winter" might not be the right word here, since we have yet to see the temperatures stay below freezing accompanied by snow. December was unseasonably warm, just like December 2014, and we had a green, wet Yule and a green, wet Christmas lol. Still, I decided to make the best of it and was rewarded with the bush to myself, with the exception of 4 other people I passed by...and for me, it was a great way to spend Yule.

One thing I didn't mention in the article that I will mention here is that, if you're like me and use home-computer-printed topographical maps for navigation, do get them laminated if possible. I found out that even a large Ziplock has it's limits...the one I used somehow developed a small opening in the middle, where the map had been folded countless times, and that spot became saturated and distorted. Yes, they're cheap and ultralight, but they do have their limits, something to keep in mind.
