    My first spoon

Started making shave horse number 2 at Dave Budds place with Ashley this morning, and he let me have a look at his crook knife and showed me how to use it. So I had a go on a random piece of ash kicking around the work area. 2 hours later, sat in the dappled sunshine and errr not helping with the shave horse I ended up with a sort of spoon.

Got home, sorted ma gear and settled down with some mead, sandpaper and linseed oil and this is what I've ended up with.

Proper chuffed I made it for my wife Emma as a long handled teaspoon to compliment her jetboil that I got for her bday last week. And she loves it

Every mile on a river takes you further from home than every hundred miles on a road.

I hope thats a birchbark canoe in your pocket.... - I guess i should give some credit to Metal Mug

Top work Phil. If all else fails, you could use it as a very small oar for the coracle.

I gotta slow down before I'm surrounded by a pile of woodshavings, steel offcuts and bits of unfinished projects!
