Thread: Cargo trousers? Working trousers?

    Cargo trousers? Working trousers?

Am looking for a decent pair of work trousers. I work part time gardening and tree cutting. Need something which will be able to stand up to a lot of pulling and prickles. Yet to be on a chainsaw so not wearing chainsaw trousers. What are your recommendations? I find a lot of army surplus stuff too thin

Look out for German flecktarn trousers these are lightweight but somewhat thicker than English issue, and they come in larger sizes which is great for me

Hello. I bought a pair of Helikon sfu trousers a while back and am really happy with them
quite a baggy fit, very comfy, great pockets. not as sturdy and protective as denim but much lighter and quicker drying. more robust than walking trousers.
I think they were just shy of thirty quid.

I've really come to like the Austrian Army field trousers (dark olive/brown colour). They are a thick poly-cotton, with 4 large pockets total...very strong weave, no problem with roses or brambles.

Dickies work trousers or Scruffs. Both pretty hard wearing and I seem to live in them. Also use them when out in the woods as I like the additional knee protection.
