What Bushcraft Gear Do You Also Use in Everyday Life

I'm assuming that most of us here don't live out in the forest 24/7 and generally have a life in modern civilization.

So what bushcraft stuff do you transfer over into your day to day life???

I know that a lot of my stuff that would be considered bushcraft related also ends up being used outside of outdoor activity as well.

I often wear my Filson waxed canvas bush hat around town, it is practical in that it keeps the rain off my head and such, but might look slightly daft to some.
Therefore, my flatcap is probably a better choice for around town, but for informal wear I am too fond of the Filson to leave it home.

Small packs also seem to end up serving double duty, both for hiking and for hauling sundry items around town, as well as groceries.

Knives see daily use for opening packages or working on small crafts and projects, this of course will vary by where you live as to whether you can actually carry your bushcraft knife daily or if it must be something smaller like a SAK.

I sometimes like to use my Kupilka cup around the house, even though there are mugs and glasses.

Maybe this is all just an attempt to bring a hobby that I deeply enjoy into my daily life, or maybe its a real lifestyle, or a sort of "bushcraft fashion".
Regardless, I notice myself doing this alot, and wondered if any of you are the same way.

So who else here uses their bushcraft stuff in everyday life too???

In everyday life?...Well, let's see here....

During the warmer months, I'll wear my Tilley pretty much anywhere, not only because it's very comfortable and looks good, but I learned the hard way that my head cannot withstand the harsh summer sun...I got a nasty case of sun poisoning, and I hope I never have to go through that pain again. That UPF-50+ on the Tilley is a real benefit for me.

In the cooler months, I'll wear my Irish-made flat cap, and if the temps are low enough, out comes the ushanka. I don't really care if people whimper and whine when they see that it is lined with real rabbit fur, it insulates far better than the fake garbage and is superior to a wool lining. It keeps my head, chin and neck warm on the coldest days and nights of the year, and that's all that matters to me.

Boots are a necessity for my NPS volunteer work - Timberland Mt. Maddsen Earthkeepers for 3 season use, and vintage Sorel Kaufman Champions for the winter.

And wherever I go, my Victorinox Huntsman is always with me .

i use my "nalgene everyday bottle" everyday (not just because of the name). i take it to work, sports and much more...
when i leave home with a bag, i always put my first aid kid in it. maybe someone else or me could get into troubles and i could help out.
and of course the swiss army knife.

I am not old enough to wear a hat around town yet. People would point and laugh :-)

But my trusty soft shell jacket is also my every day jacket, to my wifes despair as it often smell of wood smoke :-)
My Mora 2K lives in a kitchen drawer when it's not taken for a fishing trip. And gets used for food prepping in the kitchen a lot.
My small rucksack gets used on a daily basis to haul my laptop and books to and from my college.
My flashlight hangs on peg by the door, and gets used whenever I need to go into the shed. There is no electric light out there, so it takes some
fumbling around to connect the extension that goes to the other side of the house where there is an outlet....
My hiking boots gets worn all winter. I only have the one pair so they are also my hiking boots.
Whenever it rains, and I have to do something outside, I wear my only gore tex jacket.
and so on.

I can't afford to have a special set of kit that gets used only for "bushcraft" Except for specialised things like a sleeping bag.

I have kit in the boot of my car that I use for bushcraft and when at work, rabbit snares, SAK, folding saw, small axe, and I nearly always have my daysack with a few bits of kit in it my water bottle, bcb mug, hexe fuel and what ever else i might need for what i am doing.

Alike to Rune aka FishyFolk I'm not a hat person, as it's winter my Sleeka soft shell jacket, Berghaus Polar Lite Fleece, MTP/DPM Goretex jackets, one of my Mora knives housed in the kitchen drawer & one in tool box for allsorts of uses. My MTP EDC Bergen side pockets zipped together get used for when I'm out & 2nd set for camera equipment, my MTP small rucksack gets used on a daily basis to carry my bits & bobs shopping every day use. My Maglite torches are placed various locations around the home for emergencies & used in DIY along with my mini rubber Rolson torches. I wear my walking boots pending weather & for when I'm out in the woods. I carry my Primus Power Lighter III in my pocket, titanium Spork lives in my pack for lunch etc.. I sometimes pack my SAK or Multi Tool & Bahco Laplander Saw when I spot an opportunity for picking up wood Forestry, Park Rangers, & Woodland/Countryside Trust normally clearing out wooded areas gardens etc.. so opportunity to pick up fatwood & tinder etc.. & my MORFED British Forces can opener is on my key ring.

I use the the blade and scissors on my Leatherman multi tool to get at yet more gear in annoying packages received in the post
