    Major personal milestone achieved!!!

I know this maybe should be in My Daily Bushcraft but it feels like such an achievement that I just had to SHOUT about it!! Today, I finally achieved success in starting a fire using a bow and drill and was rewarded with a roaring fire for my efforts!!! Even the wife was impressed and rewarded me with a well earned beer in my drinking horn! I feel like I've just been initiated in to s secret alchemical society where members can conjure living flame from base materials!

Well done, and yet again I find myself OUT CLASSED in the primitive fire method department :-)

    Well done Beermaker!
I'm yet to achieve this one myself... I have a nicely seasoned drill and hearth in my kit to make it as easy as possible when I get round to putting in the time / effort.

Cheers everyone, I'm still really buoyed by it! Tried again using the same drill and the same hearth to light my forge but for some reason, the top of the drill kept snapping! Gave up in the end and use a blowtorch as I was running out of time but will have another go soon!

    Very impressive!
I've yet to do that, but I'm looking forward to trying again (and again...)
    Congrats!
