Strange never used to get bothered by bugs n flies, when I smoked cigars.
Though I find woodsmoke n Citrona candle quite useful around camp.atb.m
Loch Ken is stunning. I love the drive from ayr to castle Douglas. Used to do it every fortnight when I went down to maintain a block of flats. The first time I saw the milkyway band was at Loch doon up the ayr side. The amount of stars you see there is mesmerising.

    hello,
Right off the cuff Clydebank & the Kilpatrick Hills we used to (occasionally still do) 'TAB' with the Parachute/SAS Regt up there. Along old Kilpatrick to Milngavie, Lang Craig's circuit Dumbarton, Doughnut Hill, plus along the A82 gateway to the North plenty of great locations for Bushcraft. There's a few country parks around your area too
    Regards
    David

    hello,
No problem. There's plenty of places in your immediate area you can walk & practice Bushcraft without over exerting yourself. A nice peaceful spot set up the stove for a brew or take a flask & enjoy TGO
    Regards
    David
