At the start of the article you state
    "
there is ample windblown timber for this meet if anyone wants their own fire, there will of course be a bit of a tidy after an 8 month lay off,"

then in the rules say only a single communal fire. Can you clarify?
And is this a regular thing (Monthly?Bi-Monthly etc)

I Have my first wildcamp planned for that weekend

    Thanks
    Chris

The single communial fire is a large half drum which we use as a main fire and some where to socialise around. You can have contianed small wood fires or wood stoves in your own pitch such as honey stoves, BBQ's or jerry can fire pits etc. There are no ground fires allowed on the site. I hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions please ask. I am an old hand at the site and have been going since we started the meets. I used to be bi-monthly but due to reasons it was stopped for a while and this is our first meet in 8 months. We normally organise it with another meet being North Wood Scout camp meet which can be found on another forum.

thanks Pete you have just about nailed it.

XWillo, as per the opening page, anything bigger than a twig / hobo stove is ok providing you bring your own wood. however as stated due to the need to tidy up an exception to this has been made therefor allowing for free wood for bigger fires. the rules/guidlines always remain the same, look out for my intro header for the latest updates, i hope this is now clear. as your going wildcamping that weekend anyway, perhaps see you on the next one.

Has there been any further meets of this nature?

There is a meet coming up at the end of the month of April 29th -1st May....This is called our bluebell meet as the floor is covered with them and spring is in full throw in the woods with a lot of fresh growth. Any more details required just ask.

Generally we hold a meet every other month at the end of the month. Different meets have different names like the winter meet, the snow meet (cold one), summer meet, etc
