    Is this an Adder?

Went for a little walk and whilst I was taking a few snaps of a plant, I saw a snake moving through the undergrowth. I literally only blinked and it completely disappeared from sight...until I spotted it laying on a log about a meter away...

Looks like a male adder to me. Good spot.

This one was in a forest near Caerphilly; not knowing what it was I didn't dare get any closer to it... Now I know what it is I'm glad I didn't!

I saw an adder, sunning itself on the road on Bodmin Moor a few months ago. Stopped the car and opened the door to have a really close look. Next thing, a woman in a 4x4 coming the other way drove straight over it!!
