    Hello from South Wales!

Come across NB after seeing Ashley's videos on YouTube a couple of years ago now and I've been kind of trawling the info in the forums on and off since then. I'm a total newb when it comes to bushcraft but I've read and watched alot over the last few years and now I really want to put what I've seen into practice. The knowledge of the community has been very helpful so I've decided to join in now I'm getting, what I consider, my first true piece of beginner bushcraft equipment - a mora knife

I'm currently teaching myself about wild edibles and how to identify trees and common plants. I'm particularly looking forward to trying sap tapping next spring so I can get to know the delights of birch sap and maybe try to make some pine pitch too

Quite interested in learning how to whittle and work with leather in the future (with hunting in the further future) but for now I'm going to work on my flora knowledge - no point having the gear and not even knowing what you see around you!

He's from Wales, not Ireland. "croesawu i'r Gymuned" would perhaps be better but then not many people in South Wales speak Welsh, I don't but the wife does.

Welcome Ian, I'm between Brecon and Aberdare.

I'm no polyglot . As for Welsh, I can only pronounce it...I've got a long way to go.
