    Anyone into planking???

    Been looking at the interesting method of cooking Fish n Meat on a plank of wood.

    Now I'll be on the look out for some suitable slices of Cedar,Hickory,Maple,apple,Think ive got the oak sorted.

    Yay Ive used it fireside with trout on a chopped pine board (no exotics where I camp) it works well, I used it after seeing Hugh F Whit do it in the fishing prog he did, only he did salmon ( farmed ) Scandinavian in origin I believe. Have a go Mike

    Been printing of some recipes,Ken.have ordered a cedar board.n one of my relatives has a nice piece of untreated oak for me.
    I've used Whisky barrel chippings to get the smoky flavour in the past.So I'll give it a try.Think the Canadian Indians have had something to do with it too?Some great salmon over there.Nothing ventured nothing gained !as they say lol.....

    Always wanted to try, but the trout I usually get only require "sticking", lol
