Just wish I could turn my hand and make something that nice.
Sadly I've had to resort to modern stuff. The only leather I've got is from a skinned sofa and way to flimsy for the top skirt. So I've used some birch bark from my fire lighting kit to make a stiff upper lip, contact spray n now it's curing for a bit.

hello,
WOW that is some workmanship there Blood. Love the grain of that wood. Will certainly look forward to see this finished article.
Regards
David
Thanks David.
So now it's cured the actual shape if the bark has helped with the curve to wrap the handle and help keep it tight.
Masked off the area that's not going to be sprayed, wish I had some pine pitch glue to use, and I've cut some marks in the top of the wood for the glue and leather to help bond better.
Gluing up and clamping now, here goes nothin!!

Have just decided this needs a forged, twisted ring fitting to it so I can make a leather thing to mount it to my belt. Off to the man cave!!
