Got some work in on both the new birch (larger, circular) and the older maple Kuksa (oval, now glued) this weekend.

First drink from my hand made birch Kuksa! It was a piece of firewood last month, now it's a cup full of tequila on the beach . Hand tools only - hatchet and knife, coals from campfires to burn out the inside and sandpaper to finish. ...then beer

    Nice work

I attempted a kuksa, but I think I made the mistake of drying the wood out before attempting to carve, a lot of swearing before I chucked it into a fire ...

    Cheers

Thank you my friends. Final capacity 14 ounces. I had planned it around being a big enough for a beer. I still have some minor sanding and finishing, but I wanted to drink!

All that work certainly paid-off...a beauty indeed . 14 fl oz, now that's a decent size for a kuksa!
