    The runt having a stroll...
Victory awaits the one, that has everything in order - luck we call it
Defeat is an absolute consequense for the one that have neglected to do the necessary preparations - bad luck we call it

Last week our town (Potosi, Missouri) hosted the annual Washington County Fair. We had a canopy setup with some Smokey Bear freebies and information about Mark Twain National Forest...maps, brochures, and so forth. On both Friday and Saturday, I had the honor of being Smokey Bear .

    Oh yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaah, Smokey selfies!!!!!
Next to me in the bottom pic is Ed Lewis, one of our Timber Markers at the ranger station.

Both days weren't exactly cool....Saturday was hotter, but after playing Smokey for awhile, when I took off the costume, I found that I was DRENCHED in sweat. Despite that, I never really felt hot. Perhaps that's because I was downing several root beer floats each day at the fair LOL

Anyhow, I was in countless pictures with kids and adults...probably hundreds...and apparently, when I showed up for work today, I found out that I made Smokey a facebook sensation.

Smokey staggering down the high street, drunk, farting, shaking his fist, and swearing at everyone are the pictures I want to see.

Wow! The white hart just made it in the picture too...
That's a pretty cool shot considering how shy these creatures are...
