Just got back from a walk along the marshes.
There were loads of bearded tits in the reeds. Strange, I just assumed I'd seen them before but, for the life of me, I couldn't remember having seen bearded tits before, so has to go down as a 'first' for me. Easily identified though...

And the last of Summer's visitors due to leave soon. A wheatear...

And loads of sand martins perching on the telephone wires, getting ready for that flight to Africa...

Magnificent photos.. The Bearded Tit is beautiful, I've never seen one close enough for a 100% positive ID before, your photo shows him perfectly.

Thanks for all the photos chaps. Frustrated on crutches these are lovely to see. At least I'm catching up on all the Ray Mears reruns on Spike.

Only gone and torn my calf muscle. That's what happens at my age when I don't stretch or warm up and then go mad. Badminton looked like a gentle sport. Ho hum.

Hopefully Ashley will post that blood full moon to get things back on topic.

I wish you a speedy recovery Bernie. If you'll be sporting the crutches for a while, invest in some cycling or gym mits to prevent wear and tear on your hands.
