Found this curious chipmunk scurrying around at work last Sunday...he didn't mind posing for a photo or two .
An American Robin nest (mother is just barely visible) perched in a young American Beech, and a little too close to a regularly-used path in my local woodland. Sure hope no one disturbs it.
Early morning .

During the mind numbing enterprise of raking pine needles I was not entirely successful at getting the kids to pitch in....but I managed to make some lunch.
A few more from work...
Snapping Turtle...a good reason to wear boots .
Small spider and web I almost ran into.
I heard an unmistakeable clucking noise at the fringes of this forest, staying quiet and still I managed to snag a shot of Mr. Tom turkey before he disappeared behind the trees. Not the best photo, the lighting in the woods was less than adequate.

As it's been such a long time since I posted I'll post this as well; the longest branch I know of and it's just up the road from my house.
Maiden voyage of our new toy.
