    Whilst having a bit of a clearout of my Flickr account I came across this picture of a Hillbill made knife. It was a birthday present to me from my partner some 5 years ago. Not only was it one of Mark's earlier knives, I believe it was the first damascus blade he's ever done (Mark can confirm/deny that). And it's still razor sharp. And it's mine!

    These are some of eldest trees in my local woodland. The one on the top is a gigantic White Oak, over 25 meters tall, and probably close to 200 years old. The other is one of four ancient Sugar Maples, a little over 18 meters in height by my estimation, and also most likely around the 200 year mark. Just goes to show how large these trees can grow in a nurturing habitat - a taste of the past of what New England used to look like centuries ago .
