Nope. I always have all camera sounds switched off just for that reason!
A silent camera is an animal-stalking friendly camera!

I was pleased how sharp that picture came out because it was taken at a reasonable distance with a zoom lens - I was about 100 yards way. Maybe a bit less. But that kind of distance.

Massive Black Oak, the largest I've come across... it's 1.8 meters diameter at the widest point.

Not quite sure what kind of hawk this is - perhaps a Northern Harrier?

Seeing as you're in the USA that bird would probably be a young Red Tail Hawk (I flew one as a falconry bird for nearly 3 years)

I thought the same, but the call seemed quite different from the Red-tails I've heard. The bird was also an adult judging by its size.

They are all the same size after leaving the nest except the female is normally larger in all raptor species.
If you're sure it's not a Red Tail then it has to be a Goshawk, which would be a good sighting for anyone

It very well could be a Red-tail, but I've never seen them without a rusty coloured tail, and the call is fairly easy to recognise from other hawks. This one was quite strange to me. That could be, hadn't thought of Goshawks .

A nice atmospheric Autumn photo of the Waterfowl Humakt, made me feel chilly..
OAT, many years ago I sailed from Portland in Maine to Charleton South Carolina, (merchant ship) all the way down the Eastern Seaboard when the trees were all in their Autumn colours. An unforgettable sight, your photos bring back memories.

American Beech...in a few weeks the leaves will be brown, and then a light tan by winter. They'll stay on the tree until spring, or until a strong wind knocks them off.
