    Picture Of The Day

The Other Place has a 'Photo of the Day' thread, and it is quite possibly the best thing on there.
I'm always happy to nick a good idea, so I think we should have a similar thread too.
I know I like taking pictures when out and about and I'm pretty sure a good many of you do as well.
    So post 'em here.

If you all think it's appropriate then any chance of making this a Sticky?

I'll get the ball rolling. I've just got back from a ramble. Just a short stroll (about 5 miles) across the farms and fields. Took a lunch break beneath a hornbeam - a favourite sit spot on the edge of the greensand ridge of the North Downs, with a view south across the Weald. A ham and tomato roll and a mug of green tea...

Agreed . To me there are some trees that just beckon you to sit down beneath their sheltering arms for a few hours and rest. In my part of the US, we call hornbeams "Ironwood" .
Wish I could upload pics, but my laptop is in repair .

Are there any rules to this thread? Does the photo have to be taken on the day of posting for example, or is it one photo limit per day but a photo from any time?

Nah, of course there are no rules!
Just post what you like and as many as you like.
I suppose if there are any rules then it has to be that you are obliged to join in with the spirit of the thread.
Take it as you find it.
