Excellent work, that . Yep, oak can be quite obstinate when seasoned...I've watched it devour screws from even experienced carpenters.

Thank you for the kind comments guys
Since bringing it indoors it's shrunk a fair bit, m&t's not so tight now. Will pack them out with some veneer slips. Been very wet in the workshop this winter.
Next one will be ash with some Vikingesk carving with bowspirits being the inspiration with some knot work on the centre brace. Will have that indoors for a day or two first tho ;-)
Winter is coming
You can get them the same size I'm sure Kev. Granted the wood blade will be a lot shorter than the standard bucksaw (24"). Have a look at About as there are plenty of companies using them, Sawvivor for example.
Nice bucksaw btw blood, as a guide price they are going for about £25- £30 on the bay ATM . Good luck with the car boot sale bud.

Isn't it nice when someone says "that's a great piece of kit, where did you buy that", then you can modestly reply "you can't buy it, I made it myself". The moral is, it's amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.
