from marquee to bush type shelter
we are lucky enough to own our own woodland, have had it a little over a year now and its had a few changes to the camping area, we had a large 20 x 10 portable garage/marquee that we used as a seating area for camping weekends, but it took a right battering in the recent high winds, the first time the framework got badly bent and roof ripped, but it was all repairable, or should I say bodgable, anyhow the second time it was not as lucky, and the high winds completely destroyed the roof, we were going to dismantle it and remove it, that was until I spotted a picture on here of a bushcraft type shelter that had been built, very similar to our marquee, but very much lower, well it got the gears working in my brain, and so we had a makeover, cutting the legs down by around 30" its now much better, a friend who works on those big roller advertising boards gave us an old banner, which would cover the whole frame, roof and sides, and we moved the marquee position too, we still need to re install the log burning, but it's looking good, here's yet another video that our friend/helper/head ranger put together on the events of the day
