Trapper
Alexanders
Hi all
Out on a walk just a minute ago and my wife said she thinks she spotted some Alexanders earlier
I picked some. I looks a lot like celery but the main thing that struck me was it smelt like Gin & Tonic at the broken stem
Has anyone noticed the scent before. i remember someone mentioning it had quite a fragrant small

One with Nature
Alexanders are around at the mo and are good to eat (if you like the taste), but unless you are certain of your ID, its best to leave them. They belong to the carrot family, and there is another member of the carrot family coming out now as well that looks a bit like celery. Its called Hemlock water dropwort, and is the most poisonous plant in this Country, probably Europe too..
