sorry, your totally confusing me now.
It can be just as hard to navigate on a bright sunny day with excellent visibility as it can in a white out depending on terrain. Hope that clarifies my meaning

You asked for clarification I explained - I can do no more. Do you have an alternative theory on navigation in different terrains and using different methods...it is a bit off topic granted but then again several posters on this particular thread mentioned the need to navigate on some of the sites they were discussing so I kind of reckon it could be justified.
