possibly Horse mushroom or St Georges Mushroom but dont quote me on it
There is pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar, I love not man the less, but Nature more.

St George's Mushrooms are much stockier than this and have white gills. Horse Mushroom is a bit closer, but that would be much bigger, have chocolate (or pink if younger) gills, and wouldn't have striations on the cap.

I think it is probably Coprinellus deliquescens, which is a sort of inkcap. Growing on a stump, or buried wood, yes?

Alas,I can be of no help.Though I love mushrooms, never been "brave enough" to collect! So I tell myself,"The energy required to pick them,is not replaced on eating them!"Thank goodness the sell them at ASDA.lol.
