    thankyou for the positive comments,i was on the spoon about 6 hours,i had to take my time as that old pine rips easy if you cut to deep but does come nice when finished.
    we lost an ancient beech tree last week in the hurricane strengh gusts we had on thursday so was going to have a go on a couple tomorow..might try a bowl or two out of it over xmas...atb kev
