So what kind of temperature are we looking at getting down to lads, what sleeping systems are you going to be using ? And no Paul, not the liquid kind, although it may help

I will be using a softy 9 sleeping bag, hammock might even make a under blanket to take with me it all depends on if the Mrs will let me use the sewing machine, as for the temperature I think it will be around the zero mark + - 5 but I know my sleeping bag will be alright down to about minus 10 and if it does get a little nippy I have my softy jacket and trousers.
Thanks for the info Ian, I'm gonna look at making my own uq as well, you got any sites with plans, the ones I've seen are a bit vague.
Sorry I don't have sites with plans for a UQ I was lucky that I was able to see a snugpak one and have a rough idea of how to make one.
Yeah I remember Paul's vaguely, I'll do a bit of digging around

For what it's worth, I bought a jungle sleeping bag and using elastic cord and large safety pins, I hung it under my hammock making a crude under quilt. It worked fine although I would add I did it in the summer as it was an experiment.

Hi everyone. Newbie to the forum "Chippy" here. Looks like I'll miss the first meet of the year due to family commitments. How often does the Inside M25 group meet? Would love to get going on this. Also I noticed on earlier posts that the meet is in Romford. Is this private land? I always get very excited when I hear there are landowners out there that appreciate the practice of bushcraft.
