    I have no idea but they look very cool, I wouldn't mind a couple of pieces to use as knife scales, ( 150 x 45 x 15 mm ) I don't mind making a "donation", cheers Ian...

    I think it could be Laburnum. I've seen some start really yellow/lime like that and dry out a dark brown with very pale sap wood.

    What does it smell like?

    Is barberry not supposed to have yellow wood, but I've never seen it grow to that sort of thickness

    Its Laburnum and it is very poisonous. You need to be very careful when working with it.

    Bark doesn't look like laburnum to me. Not smooth enough. No idea what it is though. Have worked a lot with Laburnum and it is not as dangerous as some people think
