once gas has all gone, get the brass valve off and flush through with water from hose pipe?

Thanks fellas! Ive took the plunge and started cutting into it with a wet band saw and thankfully it didnt go boom! Ha ha so now I have a starting point. Next part is to get the tap off and fill it with water. Will hopefully get some pics as I go along.

Propane is heavier than air. So unscrew the brass fitting stand upright and fill to the brim with water this will purge all the gass out. But if there is any liquid gas left in it will collect around the outside of the tank at the bottom when be purged.
PS. do not smoke when doing this as Propane is a petrol based product!!

I made a drum out of a propane tank (makes some cool sounds)...I unscrewed the fitting then filled it full of sand then took the angle grinder to it...

Ha ha I can do it myself but I aint welded for a while now and he welds everyday so it'll be alot neater than mine.
