    All natural bow drill

    Thought I'd share a pic of my latest endeavour. An all natural bow drill set. Lime bark cordage, Hazel bow, Hazel spindle, lime hearth and limpet shell block.


    Will try and get some pics of it in use in a more bushy environment.

    Well managed three embers before it broke. Lessons Learnt - need thicker cordage, perhaps turn the two ply I had into three. Also less vigorous bow technique and a little more patience. Will make a new bigger cord and try again.

    I can't make it to the next meet, but I wish I could; I'm really impressed with your cordage.
