    Sloe recipes

Picked myself 4kg of these yesterday, wondering whether to make wine from them? Don't want to if it's horrible. Got some Sloe Gin in the cupboard already so don't want anymore. Thought about Jam, any other ideas? Ta.

Hi Jon, I've made Sloe gin with great success but never had a great deal of luck with sloe wine, haven't made either for quite a while But I'm keen to try some if it works for you...

Sloe vodka is very good, I think I even prefer it to sloe gin....I think you put some cloves in with the sloes and sugar. There will be some recipes on tinterweb.

+1 from the wife for sloe vodka, then make some real alcoholic jam with the left over sloes............or possibly a sloe vodka sorbet....

Sloe Brandy is also good. Once the Sloes are removed my wife removes the stones from a few and then pours melted chocolate over them to make a really interesting bar!

Sloe jack Daniels is very nice (or Clarkes - the cheaper yet superb aldi version)
Even folk who cannot stand whiskey or bourbon can enjoy.
1l of JD / lb of sloe / lb of sugar.

    - please do try, you'll not be disappointed

Sounds interesting. Once my Kilner jar is releaved of its duties, I'll give that a go (currently have Sloe Gin on the go).
