    hello,
Peaks this is true BTW. My mate (Veteran) former Royal Navy, Royal Marine Combat Engineers, & Royal Engineers (Suez, Aden, Radfan, Cyprus) he confirmed this as I was showing he my two Jack Knives (old & new) he also stated he made a lanyard for such as part of his training, & utilised such as a Sapper. He still has the lanyard at home.
    Regards
    David

Dagger, Jacks as pictured above are still being manufactured in the UK to one of the wartime patterns and are pleasantly inexpensive - Get 'em here: http://www.tradesmanschoice.com/cata...on/80_BEX.html (no affiliation, but have purchased twice)

The 1944 pattern British KFS. I suspect some of you may actually have some of these in your outdoors kit

    Incomplete sets are welcome too.
I have a set, but one prong off the fork is broken off.
