I've only gone and re-found the exact knife as yours!!
Funny enough, it was my first knife as a lad from my old man, The sheath is in a worse state so a new sheath is needed as well as a good session on the wet & dry restoration!
I'll be following the wise and sound advice on this thread and see how it goes; any good advice out there on sheath types, materials???
I use Autosol for my stropping compound. It comes in a handy tube and gives a fine finish on any metal

Thanks mate; I'll give that a try. Just been beavering away with the wet and dry, made a huge difference already!
Always nice to see old knives (or any tool) restored. They just have so much more character.

Isn't it nice when someone says "that's a great piece of kit, where did you buy that", then you can modestly reply "you can't buy it, I made it myself". The moral is, it's amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.
