Thread: Anyone know their yellow Russula's?

    Anyone know their yellow Russula's?

I'm having a bit of trouble deciding which Russula this might be. It differs from the Russula ochroleuca specimens i normally find in that the cap is a duller yellow colour and there is yellowing on the stipe. Are these things normal for that species and I just haven't happened to see them before?

Sorry. Hard enough to work out which russula you've got when you've got the things in your hands!

I found a load of yellow Russula this weekend just gone and too had similar difficulties. Really hard to tell which one they are :0(

I think they are just be the same species, and the yellow on the stem being spore deposits or something. It's just that i never really noticed it before. I've tried eating both either way and they are both good.
