    Like I know any of the laws over there......... here, to bowfish, you just need a fishing licence....... and can only take coarse fish as they call it, gar, carp, etc. Guess it's a reference to the scale size.

    I remember watching Ray Mears, and he was spear fishing, which was illegal (he had to get special permission), but I have no idea about bow fishing. I would guess it's illegal, because bow hunting is.

    Dunno, maybe because carp might be considered as pests and no known predator? Guess I'll have to look it up. Maybe they are just so ugly they are worth open season on.......... then again, turkeys, butt ugly, and one has to have a licence to hunt them...... I guess because they taste so good.

    Carp are bottom feeders, so tend to taste very earthy. Not my choice dish, I must admit lol.
