Ordered me a new boat!HERE
The idea is to be able to chuck it in the van for more distant locations when not on a canoeing specific holiday , it can be paddled both tandem and solo.
It has good reviews and able to take on Grade three white water....(some say four but I won't, I have a specific boat for that)

The local COOP supermarket was running a 50% discount on a Helly Hansen Loke shell jacket. Can't believe how light and packable it is. Got it for my SAR pack, and large enoutgh to fit over my Soft-shell jacket or a thick fleece, and yet it packs down into it's own pocket :-) http://shop.hellyhansen.com/gb/item/...NGE&t_type=cat
Also went into the salvation army shop, and came out with a brand new, still with it's tags on, Eagle Products 60 litre backpack. That will be my new SAR pack. I used a 40 litre pack during the excercise last weekend, and that turned out to small, as they loaded a 20 litre medic bag on top of it :-). So 40 litres fro personal gear, and the extra 20 for extras I may have to carry....if not I'll break out the 125 litre Norrønna Recon pack thats is in the shed, haha
Last, found a replacement Eagle Products frying pan..the original one has gone AWOL. Okay, off to transfer my SAR kit into the new pack.
