I just bought myself a late Christmas present, it's a nice neat little back pack from Mountain Warehouse, model is a 50L High reduced from £59.99 to £29.99 (wouldn't have paid full whack but it's good value at £30)
I am trying to get away from being a mule, 50 litre sounds big but it certainly doesn't look 50 litre, my old pack is huge and heavy, even when empty.
Campfires are best shared with friends.
I had a look at those at the end of last year and was quite taken with them. If it wasn't for the fact that I had a 46 litre and needed something bigger then I would have been really tempted

Isn't it nice when someone says "that's a great piece of kit, where did you buy that", then you can modestly reply "you can't buy it, I made it myself". The moral is, it's amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.

Not for bushcraft per se, but will be of use. A set of Pinewood fleece Mid layers. Grayling season has been awfully cold so I needed something to go under the waders. Not bad at £35 for top and bottoms. Bonus is ridiculously warm long johns.

Mountain Equipment Torres 2 4 season tent on e-bay. These are the ones that were recalled due to lack of stitching on the fly suspension points - not sure if this one's been fixed but since we can't afford a North Face VE25 this should serve use fine with a bit of sewing at worst...... kids are old enough for high altitude winter trips now.... woohooo.............
