Today I recieved my 4th place prize in the Bushcraft Bartons challenge of carving a knife.

A Cold Steel Bushman knife, a leatther zippo lighter pouch, a cordura folding knife sheath that fit my Leatherman tool perfectly and finally a nice diamond sharpening rod.

That knife will go into the car as my S.H.T.F knife...the sheath has room for a small survival kit as well, so that will be a fun project to put together :-)

S.H.T.F here is short for "I forgot my knife at home, gee I am happt I put this one in the car!"....

Isn't it nice when someone says "that's a great piece of kit, where did you buy that", then you can modestly reply "you can't buy it, I made it myself". The moral is, it's amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.
